Seven commissions as prescribed by the Charlotte Diocese were established at St. John Neumann in 2001. The purpose of these commissions is to support all of the ministries and activities at SJN by acting as liaisons to the Pastoral Council and by helping existing and new ministries to run smoothly and reach their individual goals and objectives. Each commission chairperson is listed here.

    Parish Community Life

"The mission of the Community Life Commission is to make every parishioner feel that they are part of a church family where every effort is made to meet their spiritual, social and psychological needs."

    Evangelization

"Our mission is to follow Christ Jesus by practicing our faith with enthusiasm, inviting all to share their faith and to transform society. Through prayer and service we rely on God’s grace, Christ’s love and the Gift of the Holy Spirit to empower others to be disciples of Jesus Christ."  

     Prayer Chain Ministry - If you would like to join others in praying for the special needs of our parish, please join the prayer chain. The only requirement is to call the next person on the chain and pray at your own convenience. Details: Kristi, (704) 442-1201.
Welcome Committee — Hospitality, the quality of receiving and treating guests and strangers in a warm, friendly, generous way. INTER-GENERATIONAL EVENT … The Evangelization Commission is looking for people interested in helping create a Family-Centered, Inter-Generational Faith Formation opportunity. " The mission of the Stewardship Commission is to encourage our faith community to recognize that all life is a gift from God and to give proportionately of their time, talent and treasure."

   Worship (Word)

" The Worship Commission will help enhance the worshipping assembly in fulfilling the prayer life of Saint John Neumann Parish community.  This commission will try to fulfill its goal by incorporating the ministries of alter servers, greeters, readers, ushers, music and Eucharistic ministers in all the celebrations of the liturgical life of the Church. "

  Word Commission (Education)

"As Jesus commissioned His disciples to be the first teacher of the Church, the Saint John Neumann Education Commission seeks to continue this tradition by providing educational leadership for our parish community.  Our mission is to build a faith filled community based on the Gospel message by word and action through a threefold ministry of: proclaiming and teaching the Word to give understanding, building community on the foundation of the Word and serving the educational needs of all."
