SJN - SonFest 2012

Get ready for SonFest 2012!

SonFest 2011 was a huge success and SonFest 2012 is going to be even bigger and better! We're moving the entire festival to the front parking lot for maximum visibility. We're expanding our food selection to feature Italian chicken spiedies, steak sandwiches, pork BBQ, hot dogs, fries, funnel cakes, popcorn, ice cream and desserts. And, we're really excited about our expanded international fare featuring Hispanic, Eritrean, Vietnamese and Polish foods. In addition, we're amping up our Live Music production with MORE live music, entertainment, and dancing! Rides will be located right off the midway for lots of action that will add to the overall visual excitement of the entire event! Watch for some new attractions such as the "Bungee Trampoline"! In the Parish Hall we're growing and improving upon our silent auction, expanding our bake sale and cake walk area, and providing continuous BINGO! When we say, "It's going to be AWESOME!" we really mean it!

Here are some talents we are currently looking to utilize:

Master of Ceremonies
Do you have an outgoing personality and the ability to inspire? We're looking for an energetic person to be our Master of Ceremonies! Please contact Anthony Morlando at amorlando@clearsightarch.com if this interests you.

Audio Technician
Our entertainment committee is in need of and audio technician to help with sound for our live bands and other acts throughout SonFest. While SJN has some equipment, our equipment is not professional quality so, if you have our own equipment that would be amazing. Your expertise in this area would be greatly appreciated. We had wonderful success in this area last year but would love to take this to the next level. Please contact Bill Edelen at 5446bille@gmail.com if this is something you'd like to help with.

Videographer
Are you a YouTube junkie? We'd love for you to take some footage at SonFest 2012 so that we can use it to publicize SonFest 2013! Contact Chuck Alberto at vmialberto@aol.com to volunteer.

Entertainers
Entertainment is a vital part of SonFest. Know a great band or an amazing dance troop? Encourage them to perform at SonFest! We're looking for a wide variety of family-friendly entertainment and spaces fill up quickly. Contact Angelina Ferrari at 704-288-4347 or angelina.ferrari@charchrist.com.

Silent Auction Wish List
You can probably help with SonFest in ways you haven’t even considered. We need items for our Silent Auction to help defray the costs of putting on this year’s SonFest celebration. So far, we have donations of original artwork, interior design services, handyman services, and a number of other items of interest, but we need to fill in the gaps in three big categories—Technology, Sports, and Travel. Please take a long, hard look at our “Wish List” on our website to see what you might be able to donate to this year’s SonFest Silent Auction. It’s much easier that you might think.

Also, there are probably stores you frequent and people you’ve gotten to know in those stores who would be willing to donate something for our Silent Auction. If you never ask, the answer will always be “no,” but if you ask—and smile that great smile—there’s at least a 50-50 chance of getting a “yes.” Don’t be shy! We really do need your help.
